BATU CAVES is a limestone hill that has a series of caves
and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. The cave is one of the most
popular Hindu shrines outside India dedicated to LORD MURAGAN. It is the focal
point of the Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.
The largest and best known referred as ‘Temple Cave’
rising almost 100m above the ground and visitor must climb a steep flight of
272 STEPS !! to reach above. Standing beside is the world tallest statue of
MURAGAN at 42.7m (140ft) high, a Hindu deity located outside Batu Caves.
The spectacular cave, colourful steps and golden statue
are the highlights for tourist attraction.
