Chinese Steamed Egg is a healthy
breakfast or a perfect side dish along with steamed white rice.
An easy recipe to make steamed
egg that is smooth, silky textured and melts in your mouth.
For this video, the ingredients
are as basic as they get (eggs and water).
INGREDIENTS:
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 pcs shallot / onion
1 tsp. soy sauce
Warm water (egg to water ratio approximately 1 to 1)
STEPS:
1. Break 3 eggs into a bowl and add
1/2 tsp salt.
2. Add warm water (ration 1 to
1), gradually continue beating.
4. Pour the mixture into the
plate.
5. Remove the bubbles using a
spoon (to ensure outlook of the steamed eggs smooth and nice).
6. Cover the plate with another bigger plate or cling wrap, this
is so that water droplet do not fall into the egg during the steaming process.
7. Meanwhile, heat of finely
chopped shallot till golden brown.
8. Bring the water to a boil –
for steaming the egg in a wide saucepan.
9. Steam the whole content in
medium heat for 15 minutes.
10. Lift the steamed egg gently
out from the steamer and remove the other plate (cover).
11. Add the soy sauce and garnish
with golden fried shallot.
12. This ready to serve.
