KL Walk | Chow Kit & Jalan TAR [PKPP period]
CHOW KIT (via Jalan Pahang) is a suburb in central
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and recognised as one of Malaysia’s most infamous
landmarks. Fill
with rows and rows of long-established retail outlets specialising in wholesale
goods. Best known for its daily market; aka ‘Bundle Chow Kit’.
Easily accessible via public transportation, the Chow Kit monorail
station serves the area. This unassuming section of KL is a well worth visit if
you are looking to get a taste of local city life.
JALAN TAR (Tuanku Abdul Rahman) is a major one-way road in Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia. On the shoulders of this road are pre-war buildings with
unique features that have been preserved. Retail shops like GS Gill, P. Lal and
PH Henry have locations here. Modern shopping complexes are the SOGO, Pertama
Complex and Maju Junction.
Every Saturday between 5 pm to 10 pm, Lorong
TAR is closed to vehicles to make room for the night market that offers a
variety of fabrics, textiles, clothing, domestic items and food at attractive
prices.
